Changes to Blood Collection Supplies

As a result of recent IANZ accreditation recommendations to cease the use of cotton wool balls in our blood collection procedures we have been trialling new post blood collection consumables.

A number of different items have been trialled and as a result we are now moving to the use of the following items:

Current item                                                New alternate

Cotton wool balls                                          Pur-zellin swabs
Micropore tape                                             Hypoallergenic adhesive plaster

This means we will no longer be supplying cotton wool balls or micropore tape to your practice to collect blood on our behalf. Any requests for these items after the date specified below on your order will be substituted for the new items by our stores staff.

This change will take effect from: 25 September 2017

In addition we would like to advise that we are no longer using or supplying the click needle release pronto hub due to infection control concerns. We are now out of stock of this item.
